Boom truck lifts with 65 ft of reach

For the lifts where the problem isn't the weight, it's getting there. Over the house, over the fence, over whatever's in the way.

401 Express boom truck with the crane fully extended and outriggers down at a job site in the GTA

Boom truck reach

When the truck can't get close, the boom closes the gap

A knuckle-boom crane folds and extends in sections, which lets it reach over things rather than just up. Ours extend to 65 feet. In practice that means we can park on the street and set a load in a backyard behind the house, reach across a landscaped front yard to a roof, or swing over a fence, a hedge, a ditch or a parked car to get to where the load has to land.

This is the service for sites where a regular delivery or a straight-mast crane can't make it work: tight residential lots, buildings set back from the road, rooftops behind obstructions, and anywhere there's no way to drive up to the drop point.

Capacity falls off as the boom goes out, so a 65 ft lift is a lighter lift than a 20 ft one. Give us the weight and the distance and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a job for us.

Questions we get

Boom Truck Reach: the common questions

How much can you lift at full reach? +
Less than at close range; that's how every crane works. We quote each lift against the load chart for the actual weight and distance, and we'll tell you if it's outside what the truck can do safely.
Can you reach over a house into the backyard? +
Often, yes, if the lot is a typical width and we can park in front. A photo of the house from the street and a rough idea of where in the backyard the load goes is enough for us to say.
Do you need to drive onto the lawn? +
Usually not. The point of the reach is that we set up on the driveway or street and the boom does the rest. Where we do need to set outriggers on soft ground, we use pads to protect it.
