Dangerous goods transport, TDG certified

We hold a current Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate, so we can legally carry the loads most crane and flatbed operators have to refuse.

The 401 Express flatbed crane truck, used for transporting regulated dangerous goods across the GTA

TDG certified

Regulated loads, carried properly

If a supplier or a carrier has told you they can't move something, it's often because it falls under the federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and they don't hold the certificate. We do. That means refrigerant and compressed gas cylinders, propane, fuel in drums, lead-acid and lithium batteries, paints, solvents, adhesives and industrial chemicals in drums, pails and totes can ride with us, placarded and documented the way the regulations require.

For HVAC and mechanical contractors this usually means refrigerant and nitrogen cylinders moving with the equipment. For construction it's propane for heaters and fuel for generators. For industrial clients it's chemicals in totes and batteries going in or out. It's all the same truck and the same crane, so the dangerous goods ride with the rest of the load and get lifted off at the site like anything else.

A few goods need more than TDG training: an Emergency Response Assistance Plan, or specific permits. Send us the UN number, shipping name and class from the safety data sheet and we'll tell you straight away whether it's a load we can take.

Questions we get

Dangerous Goods (TDG): the common questions

What does TDG certified actually mean? +
The driver has completed training under Canada's Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and holds a current certificate. Without it, a carrier can't legally transport regulated goods. Ours is current and we'll show it on request.
Can you carry refrigerant cylinders with an HVAC unit? +
Yes. That's one of the most common requests we get from mechanical contractors: the unit and the refrigerant on the same truck, placarded correctly.
Is there anything you can't carry? +
Some classes and quantities require an Emergency Response Assistance Plan or additional permits beyond TDG training, and explosives and radioactive materials are outside what we do entirely. Send the UN number and we'll give you a clear yes or no.
Do I need to provide shipping documents? +
The shipper is responsible for the shipping document and proper labelling under the regulations. If you're not sure what's needed, tell us what you're moving and we'll walk you through it.
